COLUMBUS – Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery turned shooting Sunday that left one man injured.
At about 9 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding a gunshot victim at the 400 block of 19th Street South, Public Information Officer Bryan Moore told The Dispatch.
Police found one victim at the scene suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm. The victim was taken by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle for treatment. He was discharged from the hospital by Tuesday afternoon.
Moore said the victim was walking into his house when the perpetrator, who he did not recognize, held him at gunpoint and attempted to rob him. The suspect then shot the victim and fled the scene before police arrived.
The investigation is ongoing, though Moore said CPD currently has no suspects.
