COLUMBUS – Three more suspects are in custody in connection with a Friday shooting in East Columbus that left one victim injured.
LeWayne Robertson, 20, of Columbus is charged with attempted murder and armed robbery. Malachi Clay, 23, and Chandler Burnett, 19, both of Columbus, face a count each of accessory after the fact.
Clay was out on bond for an aggravated assault charge. Chandler was out on bond for a prior possession of stolen property charge, according to a Columbus Police Department press release.
Officers received a tip Tuesday evening regarding Robertson’s whereabouts and arrested him, along with the two alleged accomplices, at King’s Court convenience store on Main Street, the press release said. Lowndes County Adult Detention Center records indicate the three men were all booked after 6:20 p.m.
Officers responded to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle at noon Friday in response to a 25-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds to the face and arm, according to a CPD press release issued Friday evening. The victim was airlifted out of the area for further medical care.
Five suspects total have been arrested so far in the shooting.
Kenzall Guyton and Jakorey Gibbs, both 18 of Columbus, were arrested over the weekend. Columbus Police Department is seeking a third suspect.
Guyton, who is charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, turned himself in Sunday morning, according to a CPD press release. Gibbs, charged with armed robbery, was arrested Friday night.
