STARKVILLE — An Arkansas man died Tuesday after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle near the entrance of Mississippi State University.
Samuel Alan Shirley, 31, of Blytheville, Arkansas, was traveling east on Highway 12 at about 5 p.m. when his motorcycle crashed into a vehicle turning at the Russell Street/Stone Boulevard intersection, according to Starkville police.
Shirley and the driver of the other vehicle were both taken to OCH Regional Medical Center, where Shirley was pronounced dead, Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt said. The other vehicle’s driver was treated for minor injuries and released.
