STARKVILLE — A party on South Choctaw Street was broken up by law enforcement on Tuesday night when 12 men were arrested for gambling, a misdemeanor.
A Starkville Police Department press release said officers seized multiple firearms and pills at the scene, as well, and the investigation into those items is ongoing.
SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady told The Dispatch narcotics agents arrived at the residence to serve an unrelated warrant at about 8 p.m. on Tuesday when they made the arrests.
Those arrested included Kikwon Cork, 22, Bill Jenkins, 24, Keon Clanton, 24, Jaquante Bell, 24, Mahlon Robinson, 26, and Charles Dailey, 24, all of Starkville; Laquerious Brown, 21, and Jeremy Foote, 32, both of Macon; Javares Brent, 28, and Doniven Lewis, 27, both of Jackson; Timothy Liddell, 20, of Canton; and Marcus Dent, 29, of Columbus, Lovelady said.
All 12 were charged with gambling and five were additionally charged with disorderly conduct. One was also charged with simple possession of marijuana.
