Columbus police are asking for assistance in locating a suspect in a shooting that left two people injured Thursday at the Southside Market.
Police said Caleb Gardner, 21, of Columbus, is wanted for questioning following a shooting that was reported around 12:30 p.m. at the business located in the 1400 block of Fourth Street South near the Friendship Cemetery.
Police Chief Fred Shelton said when an argument in the store between Gardner and two of the store’s customers escalated, he reportedly shot them. Gardner fled the scene in a dark gray late-model Dodge Charger, Shelton said.
The victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Shelton said.
