All of us are going through something in our lives. However, we need to stop trying to deal with it ourselves and release it to God in prayer. He’s able to do far more than we can ask or think and respond to our prayers in ways that go beyond our imagination. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Ephesians 3:20 NKJV)
As we go through life, we will encounter rejection. It can be from a cut-off family member, a friend group that excludes us, or a job promotion that we deserve goes to someone else. In times like these, we must release it to God in prayer and know we may be rejected by man, but we’re chosen by God. “As you come to him, the living Stone is rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him.” (1 Peter 2:4 NIV)
Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things we will experience in life; whether it’s a parent, spouse, child, or someone else. The pain can be so intense until it leaves us with emotions, ranging from sadness to emptiness, and from shock and anger to numbness. In moments such as these, we must release it to God in prayer, He will heal our hearts and mend our wounds. “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3 KJV)
Sometimes we’re faced with troubles that make us feel helpless and discouraged. During these times, we must release our troubles to God in prayer. He’s here to help in times of trouble. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1 KJV)
Some people will go to any extent to hurt us or harm us for no reason. Instead of retaliating back or harboring anger, we must release it to God in prayer. He will help us forgive others that do us wrong just as He forgives us for our mistakes. When we choose to forgive, we not only free others from the burden of their mistakes, but we free ourselves as well. “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” (Colossians 3:13 NLT)
There are some habits that are hard for us to break, especially the ones we have been doing for years. Many times, we have tried to stop them on our own but nothing we have tried has been successful. If we’re ready to let them go, we need to release them to God in prayer and He will deliver us. “Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.” (Psalm 40:13 KJV)
So be encouraged today and always remember: Release it to God in prayer, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37 KJV)
