The East Mississippi Community College sophomore began the year as a wide receiver. He also has been a running back, a defensive back, and a kick returner.
On Thursday night, he became a kick blocker extraordinaire.
Robinson blocked two kicks and dotted the stat sheet in all of his usual places as No. 8 EMCC routed No. 4 Northwest Mississippi C.C. 49-16 in a Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges North Division matchup at Sullivan-Windham Field.
Copiah-Lincoln forfeits won’t affect EMCC
SCOOBA — A Wednesday ruling by the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges reinstated East Mississippi Community College’s undefeated football season.
Sort of.
In the second game of the regular season, EMCC dropped a 31-24 overtime decision to Copiah-Lincoln C.C. in Wesson. The loss snapped EMCC’s 25-game winning streak, which at the time was the second longest in the history of the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Ole Miss learns Tunsil’s fate as it prepares for Memphis
The Ole Miss football team is used to weekly challenges as a member of the Southeastern Conference this week.
However, this isn’t your ordinary week for the No. 13 Rebels. At 11 a.m. Saturday (WKDH-WTVA), Ole Miss will step outside of the SEC to face a formidable foe — undefeated Memphis — in the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee.
In addition to playing a regional rival, Ole Miss learned Monday that starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil will miss the game against Memphis as he final game of a seven-game suspension. He will be able to return for Ole Miss’ game Oct. 24 against Texas A&M.
Tunsil sat out Ole Miss’ first six games. Those games were included in the penalty the NCAA handed down against Tunsil for receiving several improper benefits.
Gholar, Falcons improve to 3-0 in region
Columbus High School senior linebacker Mario Bradford had all but given up one of his goals for the season.
“I really wanted a pick-six,” Bradford said. “Eventually you realize you are to going to run out of games. However, when I saw that ball coming right over the middle right at me, I got real excited. This was going to be my chance.”

“My teammates were getting me hyped,” Robinson said. “My guys on the defense even told me I was going to intercept a pass. I didn’t believe them.”
