The Pickens Academy girls basketball team won the AISA Class 2A state title at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery Saturday, beating Monroe Academy 52-31.
It was the school’s fifth girls basketball state championship. Jessi Latham led the team with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Kate Wilkins had nine points, while Shelby Lowe had eight. For Monroe, Bailee Jones had 11 and Ruth Dees had 10 points. Pickens Academy finishes with a final record of 17-5.
