Mississippi State football’s recruiting continues to add pieces to its 2024 class.
Tyler Carter, an unranked defensive lineman by 247sports Composite, became the latest addition to the class after announcing his decision Monday over his social media.
Carter, out of Vicksburg, is listed at 6-foot-6, 251 pounds. He picked MSU over Middle Tennessee State, South Alabama and Southern Mississippi. He received his offer from Zach Arnett’s staff on June 1.
Carter, MSU’s 15th commit in its 2024 class, is the second defensive lineman, joining four-star Terrance Hibbler. Carter is also the eighth in-state commit in the class, joining Hibbler (Holmes County Central), four-star wideouts JJ Harrell (North Panola) and Braylon Burnside (Starkville), four-star athlete PJ Woodland (Oak Grove), and three-stars TJ Lockhart (OT, Winona Secondary), Xavier Gayten (RB, Brookhaven) and Fred Clark (LB, Winona Secondary).
Also in MSU’s 2024 class, which was ranked 20th in college football by 247sports ahead of Carter’s announcement, is four-stars Josh Flowers (QB) and Timothy Lewis (OL) and three-stars Matt Mayfield (WR), Caleb Dozier (ATH), Jay Lindsey (TE), Kison Shepard (OL) and Luke Work (OL).
