STARKVILLE — Mississippi State’s Big Dawg Camp helped the Bulldogs flip a rival commit.
Fred Clark, a three-star linebacker, announced his commitment to MSU Monday afternoon, three days after de-committing from Ole Miss after attending last Thursday’s camp at Davis Wade Stadium.
Clark, listed at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, is rated as the No. 768 player and No. 71 linebacker in the 2024 recruiting class by 247sports Composite.
Clark, from Winona Secondary School, is the teammate of fellow MSU 2024 commit TJ Lockhart, a three-star offensive tackle.
Clark, who also held offers from Memphis, Southern Miss and Jackson State among others, became the third MSU commit since Thursday’s camp, joining four-star defensive lineman Terrance Hibbler, and three-star offensive tackle Luke Work, who committed on Friday.
Clark, MSU’s eighth 2024 commit, also joins four-star quarterback Josh Flowers, three-star athlete Caleb Dozier, three-star wideout Matt Mayfield and three-star tight end Jay Lindsey in the program’s class.
MSU’s 2024 class was rated 33rd in college football and ninth in the Southeastern Conference by 247sports ahead of Clark’s commitment.
