STARKVILLE — Starkville Academy has parted ways with head baseball coach Thomas Berkery after his fifth season with the program.
Berkery and the Volunteers were eliminated from the Midsouth Association of Independent Schools Class 5A playoffs in the first round against Simpson Academy.
“I love the guy and I wish him the best,” Starkville Academy athletic director Chase Nicholson said.
The Volunteers went 10-22 this season and 3-12 in district play. In 2022, Starkville Academy posted a 30-8 record and a 13-2 record in district play, losing to Magnolia Heights in the MAIS Class 5A North State championship.
