STARKVILLE — The Starkville High School Baseball Booster Club is set to host a four-person scramble golf tournament fundraiser on October 17 at the Mississippi State University Golf Course in Starkville. The event includes a complimentary lunch at noon before the 1 p.m. shotgun start.
The tournament will award cash prizes of $800 for first, $600 for second and $400 for third place. Proceeds benefit the Jacket baseball team ahead of the 2025 season.
“We are excited to see Yellow Jacket fans and former players at our golf tournament,” said second year head coach and Starkville native Mark Monaghan. “Fundraisers like this one help our baseball program thrive by providing the resources needed for equipment, travel and other essential expenses.”
The tournament will include a few other challenges on top of golfing, including a heckle hole, a wood bat substitution and a one-club challenge hole.
Entry is $500 per team with up to four spots per team.
The booster club is also looking for sponsors for the event, with options to be a corporate sponsor with a $1500 donation, hole sponsor with team entry at $600 or sponsor-a-hole for $100. Information packet reads as follows:
Those interested in sponsoring or participating in the tournament can complete their registration online, or reach out to Seth O’Nan at 662-418-1000 or [email protected] or Mark Monaghan at [email protected] for any questions or further information.
