This 1963 photo shows members of the football staff who led the Bulldogs to the aforementioned Liberty Bowl victory. On head coach Paul Davis’ staff that season was defensive backs’ coach Johnny Majors, all All-American tailback at Tennessee and College Football Hall of Fame inductee after successful coaching stints at Iowa State, Pittsburgh and Tennessee.
