A pair of high-profile recruits have committed to Ole Miss this week.
Four-star defensive end Landon Barnes committed to the Rebels on Monday, as reported by On3Sports. On Tuesday, four-star tight end JC Anderson made a commitment to the program, per 247Sports.

Barnes, a 6-foot-4, 245-pounder from Duncanville, Texas, is the No. 18-ranked edge rusher in the country, according to 247Sports. He holds 32 offers, including from Colorado, LSU, Ohio State, Texas and Washington.
“They have a great plan for me at Ole Miss,” Barnes told Rivals. “They have recruited me hard, I see it as a perfect fit and the relationships I have with the coaches there are real.

“I felt the love from the staff. They showed great love and a lot of energy toward me. The people (at Ole Miss) really got to know me well and it showed me a lot as a recruit. I was there for a spring practice, then for an official visit and the energy was always there. They showed me that they wanted me.”
Barnes was first offered by Ole Miss in February after he made an unofficial visit. He subsequently took an official visit in June. He also took official visits to SMU, Washington, LSU and Ohio State.
As a junior last fall, Barnes recorded 43 tackles, 12.5 tackles-for-loss, four sacks and two forced fumbles. He led Duncanville to a 13-1 record and a berth in the Class 6A state semifinals.
Anderson – a 6-6, 240-pounder from Mt. Zion, Illinois – is the No. 8-ranked tight end in the country for the class of 2026, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He holds dozens of offers, including from Auburn, Illinois, Florida, Michigan and Notre Dame.
Anderson made 47 catches for 535 yards and seven touchdowns at Mt. Zion last season. He also plays defensive end, where he recorded 58 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
Anderson is the 11th member of the 2026 Ole Miss commit class. The Rebels now have the nation’s 40th-ranked class, per 247Sports, including 11th in the SEC.
