MACON — Noxubee County got itself into a defensive battle against a longtime rival in Louisville on Friday, losing narrowly to the Wildcats, 7-6.
The Tigers (2-3) both scored and allowed their lowest point totals so far this season.
The Tigers look to get back to .500 as they close out non-district play against Itawamba Agricultural at 7 p.m. Friday.
Caledonia 31, Aberdeen 8
CALEDONIA — Caledonia’s impressive run of form continued last Friday as the Cavaliers took down Aberdeen, 31-8, at home.
It helped improve Caledonia’s overall record this season to 3-2, finishing non-district play above .500 for the second time in three seasons. Friday’s 31 points were the most points scored by the Cavs’ offense this season as well.
Caledonia opens up district play at Kosciusko at 7 p.m. Friday.
Oak Hill Academy 41, Delta Streets Academy 12
GREENWOOD — Oak Hill Academy got back the .500 mark on Friday night, defeating Delta Streets Academy, 41-12.
The Raiders scored 40 or more points for the second-straight game, and are now averaging 41.3 points a game in their three wins.
OHA comes back home to West Point this week, hosting Winston Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
Baldwyn 35, West Lowndes 6
BALDWYN — West Lowndes fell to 1-3 on the season after a 35-6 blowout loss on the road against Baldwyn on Friday night.
The Panthers have struggled mightily to score since scoring 42 points in their season opener against French Camp Academy, and that continued on Friday. Since Week 1, West Lowndes has averaged less than 10 points per game.
West Lowndes looks to turn the tides in their next game, hosting Byhalia at 7 p.m. Friday.
Houston 34, New Hope 7
HOUSTON — New Hope’s struggles this season continued on Friday, losing 34-7 to Houston on the road.
The now 0-4 Trojans haven’t scored more than 14 points in any of their first four games, allowing 28 or more points to opponents in each game of that span. Overall, New Hope has allowed 34.5 points a game to opponents, scoring under nine points a game offensively.
New Hope hosts Columbus in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Wayne Academy 51, Columbus Christian Academy 0
WAYNESBORO — Columbus Christian Academy’s struggles this season continued on Friday night, losing 51-0 to Wayne Academy.
The Rams, now 0-6 this season, have been shut out in four of six games overall on the year. As a result, offensively, CCA is averaging just four points a game.
CCA returns home this week to play Carroll Academy in district play at 7 p.m. Friday.
Lee Academy (Ark.) 52, Hebron Christian 24
PHEBA — Hebron Christian’s defense struggled mightily Friday against Lee Academy (Ark.), losing 52-24 at home.
The Eagles (1-4) scored points for just the second game this season, showing promise but ultimately falling short.
Hebron will continue district play on the road this week, taking on Calhoun Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
Sulligent (Ala.) 49, Aliceville (Ala.) 30
SULLIGENT, Ala. — Aliceville (Ala.) fell in a shootout to Sulligent (Ala.) on the road on Friday night, 49-30.
The Yellowjackets (1-4) were led by QB Javion McGraw, who was 15/26 with 216 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. KeAnthony Wilder and Tyquan Simon led in receiving with 189 total receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.
Aliceville (Ala.) will travel to play Central Tuscaloosa (Ala.) in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
South Choctaw Academy (Ala.) 20, Pickens Academy (Ala.) 15
CARROLLTON, Ala. — Pickens Academy (Ala.) fell to South Choctaw Academy (Ala.) at home, 20-15, on Friday night.
The Pirates (1-4), despite a close loss, gave up a season-low in points while scoring in double-digits for the second-straight game.
Pickens Academy (Ala.) will travel to play Jackson Academy (Ala.) in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
