SHANNON — Noxubee County got back to the .500 mark on the season, defeating Shannon, 42-14, on the road on Friday night.
It was a dominant performance from the Tigers, who have scored 40 or more points each of the last two weeks. This is also the second time that the defense has allowed 20 or fewer points in a game this season, both those games resulting in Noxubee County victories.
The Tigers host Louisville in a huge non-district matchup at 7 p.m. Friday.
West Point 19, Neshoba Central 9
WEST POINT — West Point improved to 2-2 on the season with a gritty 19-9 win at home Friday night over Neshoba Central.
It’s the fewest combined points scored in a game at West Point since a 17-0 defeat of Louisville during the 2021 season, and the second-fewest points recorded in a win by the Green Wave at home since that game as well. Senior Kahnen Daniels tacked on another couple of touchdown runs and now has double-digit rushing touchdowns for the season.

Lafayette 42, Columbus 20
LAFAYETTE — Columbus fell to 0-4 on the season with a tough 42-20 loss at Lafayette on Friday night.
It’s the second-straight game that the Falcons have scored at least 20 points, but also the second-straight game that Columbus has allowed 40 or more points. Defensive struggles and miscues haunted the young Falcons again, something that will have to be corrected immediately with the rest of the year looming.

Leake Academy 38, Heritage Academy 33
MADDEN — Heritage Academy played its closest game of the season on Friday night, but fell just short in a 38-33 road loss against Leake Academy.
It’s the first time since 2015 that Heritage (0-5) has lost five or more games in a season and it’s the first time since 2007 that the Patriots have begun a season 0-5. Friday’s 38 points allowed was also the most points allowed in a single game in 2023 for Heritage.
The Pats will look to get back on track as they host Lamar School at 7 p.m. Friday.
Oak Hill Academy 47, Rossville Christian (TN) 3
WEST POINT — Oak Hill Academy won its second game of the season on Friday, defeating Rossville Christian (TN), 47-3.
That is the largest margin of victory so far this season for the Raiders (2-3), who also had a 36-0 shutout win over Columbus Christian Academy on Sept. 1. This is also the second-fewest points allowed by Oak Hill in a game this season.
OHA travels to play Delta Streets Academy in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Winona Christian 35, Columbus Christian Academy 16
WINONA — Columbus Christian Academy fell to 0-5 on the season after a 35-16 loss against Winona Christian on the road Friday night.

CCA heads back on the road this week to play Wayne Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
Jacksonville Christian Academy (Ala.) 47, Victory Christian Academy 0
Jacksonville, Ala. — Victory Christian fell to 1-1 on the season and 1-1 in district play after a 47-0 blanking at Jacksonville Christian Academy. After scoring 52 points last week, the Eagles were unable to find the end zone against the Thunder. Victory Christian hosts Mississippi Phoenix Sports Academy in a non-district homecoming matchup at 7 p.m. Friday.
Aliceville (Ala.) 46, Francis Marion (Ala.) 14
MARION, Ala. — Aliceville (Ala.) won its first game of the season on Friday night, destroying Francis Marion (Ala.), 46-14 on the road.
The Yellow Jackets (1-3) saw a great game from quarterback Javian McGraw, who was 12/19 for 222 yards and two passing touchdowns. The combination of Jaboree Jones and Javian Mosely on the ground also did wonders for Aliceville (Ala.), as the two combined for 120 yards rushing and three touchdowns.
Aliceville (Ala.) will head to play Sulligent (Ala.) in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Pickens Academy (Ala.) 45, Coosa Valley Academy (Ala.) 20
CARROLLTON, Ala. — Pickens Academy (Ala.) snapped a three-game losing streak to begin the 2023 season with a 45-20 win over Coosa Valley Academy (Ala.) on Friday night at home.
The Pirates (1-3) scored more than three times the amount of points in one game on Friday that they did through their first three games of the season, allowing a season-low in points.
Pickens will continue its home stand at 7 p.m. Friday, hosting South Choctaw Academy (Ala.) in its next game.
