CALEDONIA — Caledonia baseball defeated West Point, 9-1, at home on Tuesday night.
The Cavaliers (6-3) saw Zack Gorum and Conner Black combine to strike out 11 and give up one earned run in seven innings of work. Both gave up just six hits combined.
Offensively, Caledonia had multi-hit games from Gorum, Black and Cooper Bates. Bates also led the team with three RBIs in the win.
For West Point (3-4-1), Cortlin Carter led the Green Wave offensively with two hits and the lone RBI of the game for them. Elijah Young and Cole Ellis struggled on the mound for the Green Wave, allowing all nine runs and walking a combined six batters.
Young did strike out seven in the loss, a bright spot for West Point.
Caledonia goes on the road for its next game against Tishomingo County while West Point hosts Neshoba Central, both games scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday.

MOOREVILLE — Caledonia softball defeated Mooreville, 7-1, on the road on Tuesday night.
The Cavaliers (9-4) rode the stellar pitching of senior Lauren Brown, who struck out 13 and gave up one run, unearned, in a complete game masterpiece. Offensively, four players recorded multi-hit games as Summer George led with a three-hit night and Tatum McBribe led in RBIs with two RBIs.
Caledonia will host Itawamba Agricultural in its next game at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Grenada 15, Starkville 12
STARKVILLE — Starkville, despite out-hitting Grenada, 17-13, lost to the Chargers on Tuesday night, 15-12, at the Starkville Sportsplex.
The Yellow Jackets (3-4) had multi-hit games from seven players and three-hit games from Rose Dodds, Kiersten Burnett and Kendel Thompson. Dodds and Thompson also led Starkville with three RBIs each.
Olivia Mattison struggled on the mound despite throwing a complete game, giving up 13 hits and 15 runs in seven innings of work.
Starkville will travel to play Choctaw County in its next game at 6 p.m. Friday.
