CLEVELAND — Columbus improved to 3-1 in district play this season with a 28-19 win over Cleveland Central on Friday night.
The Falcons (3-5) have turned things around since the start of district play, averaging 20.8 points per game as an offense.
Columbus will host Saltillo in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Heritage Academy 35, Leake Academy 6
MADDEN — Heritage Academy continues to roll this season after defeating Leake Academy, 35-6, on Friday night.
Having already clinched a division crown, the Patriots (8-1) are doing their part to secure their postseason standing, scoring 30 or more points for the seventh time this season.
Heritage Academy will close out its regular season on the road against Pillow Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
Caledonia 42, Mooreville 0
MOOREVILLE — Caledonia has put together a winning streak for the first time this season after a 43-0 shutout victory over Mooreville on Friday night.
This is not just the third win of the season for the Cavaliers (3-5) but the third 40-plus-point shutout victory for them as well.
Caledonia will take on unbeaten Itawamba Agricultural at home in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Starkville Academy 27, Bayou Academy 6
STARKVILLE — Starkville Academy is now on a two-game winning streak after a 27-6 win over Bayou Academy on Friday night.
The Volunteers (6-4) have gotten themselves back to .500 in district play with just one game to go, starting out hot and maintaining it against Bayou.
Starkville Academy closes out its regular season schedule on the road against Washington Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
Central Holmes Christian 49, Oak Hill Academy 35
LEXINGTON — Oak Hill Academy fell in a close game on Friday night against Central Holmes Christian, 49-35.
In the last two games for the Raiders, they’ve given up an average of 48.5 points a game. Friday was the fourth time they’ve given up 40 or more points in a game this season.
Oak Hill Academy will finish its regular season on the road against Marshall Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
Columbus Christian Academy 62, Hebron Christian 8
Columbus Christian Academy won its second game in its last three games with an impressive 62-8 win over Hebron Christian on Friday night.
The blowout victory got CCA back over the .500 mark on the season at 5-4, while Hebron Christian remains winless on the year at 0-9.
Eight different players scored for Columbus Christian, including six seniors: Beau Kemp, Drake Shaw, McCory Humphres, Jonah Harrison, Grant Robinson and Truman Hicks. Garrett Weathers also tossed a touchdown pass, while Kory Davis had a 45-yard touchdown catch and Braydon Shelton had a two-point conversion.
CCA will travel to play North Sunflower Academy in its next game while Hebron Christian will host Deer Creek in its next game, both being played at 7 p.m. Friday.
Jacksonville Christian Academy (Ala.) 48, Victory Christian Academy 8
Victory Christian stayed winless on the season after a rough 48-8 home loss against Jacksonville Christian (Ala.) on Friday night.
The Eagles (0-6) have been held to 10 points or less in five of its six games this season, four of those resulting in shutouts.
Victory Christian will travel to play Success Unlimited (Ala.) in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Aliceville (Ala.) 34, Winston County (Ala.) 30
DOUBLE SPRINGS, Ala. — Down 28-14 heading into the fourth quarter, Aliceville (Alabama) outscored Winston County (Alabama) 20-3 in the quarter for a 34-30 comeback victory.
Aliceville quarterback Ty’Jarian Williams passed for three touchdowns and ran for another, one of two Yellow Jackets (8-1) players with multiple touchdowns in the game.
Running back KeAnthony Wilder ran for two touchdowns for Aliceville in the win as well.
Aliceville will travel to play Greene County (Alabama) in its final regular-season game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Clarke Prep (Ala.) 35, Pickens Academy (Ala.) 12
CARROLLTON, Ala. — Pickens Academy (Alabama) fell on Friday night at home against Clarke Prep (Alabama), 35-12.
The Pirates (2-6) lost their fourth straight game overall and third straight game giving up at least 35 points to their opponent.
Pickens Academy will travel to take on Banks Academy (Alabama) in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
