OLIVE BRANCH — The Columbus High School football team lost Friday’s road game at Center Hill, 24-22.
The Falcons fell to 1-4 with the loss. All four defeats have been on the road.
Quarterback Ethan Conner was 7 of 11 passing for 200 yards and a touchdown to Steve Turner, who finished with 150 yards on four catches. Conner also ran for 58 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.
Steve Cattledge led the team on defense with 13 tackles, Isaiah Harris had eight, and Deitrick McCray and Tyrese Erby each had four. Karon Hawk added an interception for the Falcons, who limited the Mustangs to 127 yards on the ground.
Darion Mosley hit a 37-yard field goal for Columbus and made two out of three extra-point attempts.
The Falcons will hit the road again to face Grenada next week.
Lake Cormorant 40, New Hope 21
LAKE CORMORANT — New Hope dropped to 1-4 with a 40-21 road loss at Lake Cormorant on Friday.
Ty Crowell ran for 126 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries and threw a scoring pass to LJ Hackman. Crowell finished 4 of 12 passing for 52 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Zac Butler was 3 of 5 passing for 40 yards and a pick, and he ran for 30 yards and a score on five carries.
Hackman had 48 yards rushing on five carries and 41 receiving yards, including his score, on two catches.
Ladarius Tate added 84 rushing yards on 12 carries, and Eddie Jefferson had four catches for 47 yards. Carson Latham caught a pass for 4 yards.
New Hope will host Saltillo (0-4) next Friday.
West Point 27, Saltillo 0
SALTILLO — West Point won its fourth straight game Friday, beating Saltillo 27-0 on the road to improve to 4-1 on the season.
Cameron Young led the Green Wave rushing attack with 205 yards and a 6-yard touchdown on 18 carries. Chris Ivy added 85 yards and a 14-yard score on 13 carries, and JaKobe Pate had 42 yards on four attempts.
Montavious Edwards had six yards, including a 2-yard touchdown run, on three carries.
Pate caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Ivy, and Corbin Kelley completed 5 of 11 passes for 30 yards.
West Point will host Lake Cormorant (3-1) next week.
Starkville 41, Germantown 7
MADISON — Luke Altmyer set a Starkville High School single-game passing record as the top-ranked Yellow Jackets improved to 5-0 with a dominant win over Germantown on the road Friday.
Altmyer was 31 of 45 passing for a school-record 426 yards and finished with five touchdown passes. The Florida State commit found Sam Hunt for three scores and tossed touchdowns to Hayes Davis and LeRoy Hollingshed as well.
Hunt finished with 78 yards on seven catches, including his three scores, while Hollingshed was the team’s leading receiver with 138 yards on seven grabs.
Amariyon Howard added 98 receiving yards on eight catches, ran seven times for 14 yards and even tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Mitchell. Mitchell had 56 receiving yards, and Davis had 47.
Jaylon York added an interception for the Yellow Jackets.
Starkville is still looking for an opponent to face Oct. 9 after Greenville High School canceled its season.
French Camp Academy 25, West Lowndes 12
FRENCH CAMP — West Lowndes dropped to 2-3 with a 25-12 loss at French Camp Academy on Friday.
No statistics were available from the contest.
The Panthers will play at Smithville (1-3) next week.
Delta Academy 48, Columbus Christian Academy 18
MARKS — Columbus Christian Academy fell to 1-6 with a 48-18 loss at Delta Academy on Friday in Marks.
Tyler Looney had a 59-yard touchdown on the opening play, and Lahndon Townley and Beau Kemp also scored touchdowns for the Rams.
But Delta Academy scored three times in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
Looney finished with 64 rushing yards, while Kemp had 47. Drake Shaw went 5 for 7 passing for 68 yards and ran for 11 yards.
Columbus Christian will host Ben’s Ford Christian Academy (5-2) next Friday.
Oak Hill Academy 47, Rossville Christian Academy (Tenn.) 20
ROSSVILLE, Tenn. — Oak Hill Academy improved to 2-4 with a 47-20 district win over Rossville Christian Academy (Tennessee) in Friday’s road game.
Manning Huffman and Cameron Dill each had two touchdowns for the Raiders, while Jake Glusenkamp ran for a touchdown and Nathan Harrington caught a scoring pass.
Oak Hill will host Carroll Academy (7-0) next Friday in West Point.
Unity Christian Academy 30, Hebron Christian 8
LELAND — Hebron Christian lost Friday’s road game 30-8 at Unity Christian Academy in Leland.
The Eagles fell to 2-5 with the loss.
No statistics were available from the contest.
Hebron will host the DeSoto (Arkansas) School (7-0) next week in Pheba.
Tuscaloosa Christian (Ala.) 38, Victory Christian Academy 8
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Tyshon Rogers had a 44-yard touchdown pass to Austin McCarter, but Victory Christian Academy was soundly defeated by Tuscaloosa Christian School (Alabama) in Friday’s road game, 38-8.
Rogers finished 3 of 12 passing for 69 yards and a touchdown but also was intercepted three times. He added 15 rushing attempts for 106 yards.
Frierson had 15 tackles, Camron Henley had six, and Zac Carr had four. Carr also recovered a fumble for the Eagles (2-2).
Victory Christian will host Cornerstone (Alabama) Christian (2-2) next Friday.
Southern Academy (Ala.) 41, Pickens Academy (Ala.) 13
GREENSBORO, Ala. — Pickens Academy (Alabama) lost its second straight game, dropping Friday’s road contest to Southern Academy (Alabama) 41-13.
The Pirates fell to 4-2 with the loss.
No statistics were available from the game.
Pickens will play at Jackson Academy (Alabama) next week.
Lamar County (Ala.) 19, Aliceville (Ala.) 18
VERNON, Ala. — Lamar County (Alabama) edged Aliceville (Alabama) 19-18 on Friday in Vernon, Alabama.
The Bulldogs improved to 3-3 on the season, and the Yellow Jackets fell to 4-3.
Lamar County’s next game is at Addison, while Aliceville has a bye before a game at Midfield.
