A new upscale restaurant is on the horizon for Starkville foodies.
Heritage Chophouse, a steak and seafood concept, is moving in right next to Georgia Blue at 211 S. Jackson St., Suite 2. The new restaurant is part of the Culinary Innovations Group, the hospitality company behind Starkville’s Bluto’s and Taste.
“Heritage Chophouse is our take on the classic American steakhouse,” said Mark. H. Brezinski, CIG CEO. “We want it to feel refined and special, but still warm and comfortable. The focus will be on exceptional steaks, chops, seafood and classic steakhouse dishes, along with a strong bar and wine program.”
Construction is already underway and CIG is actively searching for employees to help build Heritage Chophouse.

Later this month, Starkville is getting another visit from Maine.
The Cousins Maine Lobster food truck is rolling back into town after about a year away. You can catch them parked at Tractor Supply 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 23, serving up their famous lobster rolls, tots, tacos and more.
If you aren’t familiar with the brand, cousins Sabin Lomac and Jim Tselikis started the business in 2012 with one truck in Los Angeles. After a successful pitch on Shark Tank and a deal with Barbara Corcoran, the business exploded. Within four years, they hit $20 million in sales, and today the franchise has nearly 50 trucks and five brick-and-mortar locations.
The lines were massive the last time they stopped by, so I recommend getting there early or placing your order online ahead of time.
Heading over to Columbus, we have a highly anticipated update on the dual-restaurant development on Highway 45.
Local franchisee Jamin Patel, who along with Vikaskumar Patel are bringing both Beef ‘O’ Brady’s and Newk’s Eatery to the former Ceco plant location at 2200 Hwy. 45, confirmed that while construction temporarily paused, work will resume in “full force” July 15.
Beef O’ Brady’s, the family-friendly sports pub known for its wings, burgers, wraps and surf and turf options, is expected to have a December opening. While the Newk’s location, which will serve soups, salads and sandwiches, is slated to open early 2027.
“We are really very proud to bring these two new restaurants to this amazing community,” Patel said. “This is our hometown, and we’re excited to open.”
Finally, over in West Point, a unique new business is ready to board its four-legged friends.
The Cat’s Pajamas Boarding, a dedicated cat boarding facility owned by Beth Burdine, is celebrating its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. Friday.
Located in a converted cottage on Burdine’s property, the facility is designed to keep cats comfortable while their owners are away. The space features individual 6-by-5-by-3-foot suites, each with its own window view for bird-watching and lounge in the sun. For pricing, availability and location information, you can reach out to Burdine on Facebook, Instagram or email [email protected].
