DE KALB – Columbus Christian Academy has continued its great run of form in recent weeks, dominating Kemper Academy on the road, 50-0, on Thursday night.
Garrett Weathers began the scoring for the Rams (3-1) with a 6-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Luke Phillips and Beau Kemp also had touchdown runs in the quarter, a 3-yard run from Phillips and a 13-yard run from Kemp.
CCA ended up leading Kemper 36-0 at the half after a 25-yard Drake Shaw touchdown run and a 51-yard scoring reception from Shaw to Phillips.
Kory Davis and McCory Humphres recorded rushing touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, to seal the deal. Davis ran it in from 20 yards out.
Columbus Christian next plays Tunica Academy at home at 7 p.m. Friday.
Louisville 28, Columbus 0
LOUISVILLE — For the third straight game, Columbus football was defeated by a 28-0 scoreline, this time coming from Louisville on Friday night.
The Falcons (0-3) were overpowered from the start and, despite keeping the score relatively close throughout, they just couldn’t put points up on the board to pressure the Wildcats.
Columbus’s next game will be at home against Tupelo at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Canton Academy 40, Oak Hill Academy 6
WEST POINT — Oak Hill Academy was defeated by Canton Academy, 40-6, on Friday night.
The Raiders (1-3) trailed 26-0 at halftime and despite putting points on the board in the second half, it was too little, too late as Canton Academy dominated the game overall.
Oak Hill Academy’s next game will be at home against Lee Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
Calhoun Academy 36, Hebron Christian 8
PHEBA — Hebron Christian returned home for the first time in two games but was defeated by Calhoun Academy, 36-8, on Friday night.
The Eagles (0-4) defense was improved, giving up the least amount of points to an opponent so far this season, but Calhoun was too much.
Hebron Christian will travel to play Delta Academy in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Russell Christian Academy 38, Victory Christian Academy 0
MERIDIAN — Victory Christian Academy was defeated by Russell Christian Academy, 38-0, on Friday night.
The rainy conditions were tough to play in for the Eagles (0-2), who did improve upon last season’s 56-0 shutout loss against the Warriors.
Victory Christian will travel for its next game against Tabernacle Christian (Ala.) at 7 p.m. Friday.
Patrician Academy (Ala.) 38, Pickens Academy (Ala.) 21, Thursday
BUTLER, Ala. — Pickens Academy (Ala.) fell short against Patrician Academy (Ala.) in a 38-21 loss on Thursday night.
The Pirates (1-2) scored the most points they’ve scored against the Saints since 2017, but the defense could not keep up with the potent offense of Patrician Academy.
Pickens Academy (Ala.) will travel to play Coosa Valley Academy (Ala.) at 7 p.m. Friday.
