MOOREVILLE — Caledonia earned a big district road win over Mooreville on Thursday, beating the Troopers 42-8.
Darrius Triplett ran for 180 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries for Caledonia (2-3), while Kewon Wyatt added three carries for 53 yards and a score. Curtavis Johnson ran nine times for 48 yards.
Quarterback Zack Gorum completed a 33-yard touchdown pass to Braden Walters for Caledonia.
Caledonia will host Pontotoc next Friday.
Grenada 14, Columbus 7
GRENADA — Columbus High School football team suffered a 14-7 district loss at Grenada on Thursday.
The Falcons fell to 1-5 and 1-2 in Region 1-5A play with the defeat.
Columbus will host Lake Cormorant next Friday.
Lamar School 31, Heritage Academy 14
MERIDIAN — On Thursday, Heritage Academy suffered its first loss since Week 1 at Jackson Prep.
The Patriots lost to Lamar School 31-14 in Thursday’s road game to fall to 5-2 on the season.
Heritage Academy will face rival Starkville Academy next Friday in Columbus.
West Lowndes 48, Smithville 26
SMITHVILLE — West Lowndes evened its record at 3-3 with a 48-26 road win against Smithville on Thursday.
The Panthers are back to 2-2 in Region 2-1A play with the win.
West Lowndes will host Noxapater next Friday in Columbus.
Starkville Academy 21, Bayou Academy 7
STARKVILLE — Starkville Academy improved to 5-2 with a 21-7 homecoming win over Bayou Academy on Thursday in Starkville.
CJ Jackson rushed for all three touchdowns for the Volunteers.
Starkville Academy will face rival Heritage Academy next Friday in Columbus.
Ben’s Ford Christian (La.) 48, Columbus Christian Academy 22
STEENS — Columbus Christian Academy fell to 1-7 with a 48-22 district loss to Ben’s Ford Christian School (Louisiana) on Thursday in Steens.
Beau Kemp had a rushing score and a 22-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Looney for Columbus Christian. Kemp finished with 81 passing yards, all of which went to Looney.
Lahndon Townley, who finished with 25 rushing yards, had the Rams’ final touchdown of the night as the final seconds ticked off the clock. Caleb Farlow finished with 29 rushing yards.
All three Columbus Christian scores were in the second half.
The Rams will host Hebron Christian next Friday for their final district game of the year.
