NETTLETON — After a bounce-back victory last week in its first home game of the season, Caledonia’s road woes continued in a 41-13 loss on Friday night.
The Cavaliers (1-3) could not stop a balanced Nettleton attack that recorded nearly 500 yards of total offense in the win.
Caledonia will return home against Aberdeen in its next game at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Shannon 36, Noxubee County 25
MACON — Noxubee County, after starting 2-0 this season, has struggled in its past two games and fell back to .500 with a 36-25 home loss to Shannon on Friday night.
The Tigers (2-2) have given up 35 points per game in its past two games, both of which have ended up in losses.
Noxubee County travels to play Louisville for its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Lee Academy 33, Oak Hill Academy 26
WEST POINT — Oak Hill Academy dropped a third consecutive home game this season after a close 33-26 loss to Lee Academy on Friday night.
The Raiders (1-4) had their best showing of the season since losing to Winona Christian in Week 2, but even after keeping the game within reach, Oak Hill couldn’t pull off a win in the end.
Oak Hill Academy travels to play Kirk Academy in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Tupelo 28, Columbus 6
Columbus finally scored its first points of the season, but like its first three games of the season, the Falcons gave up 28 points in a loss, this time to Tupelo on Friday night in a 28-6 defeat.
The Falcons (0-4) gave up 21 points in the second quarter alone and faced a big 28-0 halftime deficit. Columbus put points on the board in the third quarter but couldn’t muster up more scoring drives.
Columbus will take on New Hope at home in its next game at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Tunica Academy 46, Columbus Christian Academy 22
STEENS — Columbus Christian Academy has had a successful start to its 2022 season but ran into a great Tunica Academy team on Friday night, losing 46-22.
The Rams (3-2) had put up 50 or more points in their previous two games but couldn’t quite generate offense in the same way as Tunica Academy turned on the afterburners and torched CCA on offense.
Grant Robinson scored two touchdowns and had 114 receiving yards for the Rams. McCory Humphres had a 1-yard touchdown run, and Drake Shaw converted a two-point try.
Garrett Weathers passed for 187 yards for the Rams. Luke Phillips had 50 receiving yards.
Columbus Christian will travel to take on DeSoto School (Arkansas) for its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Delta Academy 44, Hebron Christian 0
MARKS — Hebron Christian struggled once again on Friday night as Delta Academy shut out the Eagles, 44-0.
This is Hebron’s first shutout loss of 2022, but the Eagles (0-5) haven’t scored more than 16 points in a game this season.
Hebron Christian will go back home for its next game against Lee Academy (Ark.) at 7 p.m. Friday.
Tabernacle Christian Academy (Ala.) 54, Victory Christian Academy 0
Victory Christian Academy football dropped a tough one against Tabernacle Christian Academy on Friday night, a 54-0 shutout.
The Eagles (0-3) could not stop the onslaught of offense from Tabernacle Christian as Victory Christian stays winless on the season.
Victory Christian’s next scheduled game is on the road against Tuscaloosa Christian Academy (Ala.) on Sept. 30.
Aliceville (Ala.) 54, Sulligent (Ala.) 28
ALICEVILLE, Ala. — Aliceville (Alabama) absolutely dominated at home, defeating Sulligent (Ala.) on Friday night, 54-28, in a game that saw the Yellow Jackets score at least 10 points in each quarter.
Yellow Jackets (4-1) quarterback Ty’Jarian Williams was the story of Friday night’s game, throwing for seven passing touchdowns and over 300 yards in the air.
Aliceville will host Tuscaloosa Central in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Pickens Academy (Ala.) 26, Coosa Valley Academy (Ala.) 0
HARPERSVILLE, Ala. — A fast start was exactly what Pickens Academy (Ala.) needed in a 26-0 shutout victory over Coosa Valley Academy (Ala.) on Friday night.
The Pirates stormed out to a 12-0 lead in the first quarter and led 20-0 at the half, cruising in the second half as Coosa Valley had no answer.
Pickens Academy (Ala.) will travel to play South Choctaw Academy in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
