DECATUR, Ga. – Mississippi University for Women volleyball won the athletics program’s first game as a full NCAA Division III member on Saturday in a straight-set win over Agnes Scott College, 25-11, 25-10, 28-26.
The Owls went 1-2 on the weekend at the Fall Smash at Woodruff Gym in Decatur, Georgia.
The three set win over Agnes Scott included dominant performances in the first two sets and a nail-biting third set that was tied at 24 where one team had to win by two.
MUW did just that, hitting .167 in the match with more than twice the number of total kills and six less total errors, leading in every statistical category.
The W next plays Louisiana Christian in Pearl River at 4 p.m. Monday.
