COLUMBUS – The W’s Hannah Owens has been named to the

2024-25 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Team for Track & Field/Cross Country, it has been announced. The awards are selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The CSC Academic All-District awards recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
Owens, a sophomore, began the year by earning second-team all-conference honors at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) cross country championships in November, finishing the 6-kilometer course in 13th place. Owens also represented MUW at the NCAA III South Regional championships.
On the track, Owens finished in third place for the 3,000 meters (in a school-record time of 11:57.04 minutes) and was sixth in the mile at the SLIAC indoor championships.
At the SLIAC outdoor championships, Owens repeated as the winner of the grueling 10,000-meter run. She also set a school record in the 5,000 meters (in a clocking of 20:27.51 minutes), good for a second place in the event.
Owens was also named to the SLIAC All-Academic Team for both cross country and track & field. She has been on The W’s Athletic Director Honor Roll every Term, as well.
Owens is a culinary arts major at The W.
