OXFORD – The casual college football fan is about to be very well-acquainted with star Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy.
Lacy, who tied the program record with 1,567 rushing yards last season and became the Rebels’ first Doak Walker Award finalist, is one of three players who will grace the cover of this year’s EA Sports College Football video game. The latest edition in the bestselling franchise will be available July 9.
Lacy, who is entering his junior season, will be joined on the cover of the game’s standard edition with Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney and Oregon quarterback Dante Moore. Lacy is also on the cover of the deluxe edition of the game, which features Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti and a handful of other players and mascots.
Fresh off the program’s first berth in the College Football Playoff, Lacy and senior quarterback Trinidad Chambliss figure to be among the preseason favorites for the 2026 Heisman Trophy and other various national awards. The Rebels went 13-2 last season and advanced to the CFP semifinals at the Fiesta Bowl, losing 31-27 to Miami. Ole Miss finished No. 3 in the final AP Poll.
Lacy played his first college season at Missouri but broke out in a big way his first year in Oxford, setting the program’s single-season touchdown record in addition to his record-tying rushing yardage total. He rushed for 100 yards or more in seven games, including a career-best 224 yards against Florida. Lacy scored multiple touchdowns in seven different games and failed to log a rushing score just once.
The Rebels open the 2026 season on Sept. 6 with a neutral-site matchup against Louisville in Nashville.
