OXFORD – Ole Miss senior guard/forward Cotie McMahon was named SEC Newcomer of the Year and was selected to the All-SEC first team, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
McMahon, a first-year transfer from Ohio State, is the first Ole Miss player to be named first-team all-conference since 2024 (Madison Scott, Marquesha Davis).
McMahon leads the Rebels (21-10, 8-8 SEC) in scoring at 19.8 points per game. She scored 20 or more points in 17 games and crossed the 30-point mark twice, including a career-best 39-point effort against Tennessee. She was rated the No. 3 transfer in the 2025 portal class by ESPN last offseason. McMahon was twice named first-team All-Big Ten during her tenure at Ohio State.
The Rebels have won 20 or more games for the fifth consecutive season and are on the verge of earning their fifth straight NCAA Tournament berth. They begin play in the SEC Tournament Thursday at 5 p.m. against either Auburn or Texas A&M.
