COLUMBUS — Wednesday saw the release of College Sports Communicators’ 2023 Academic All-District men’s and women’s soccer teams, and four players from the Mississippi University for Women soccer programs were recognized.
Men’s soccer representative Tres Ray and women’s soccer representatives Olivia Deslatte, Molly Moore and Kimi Norway earned a spot on these teams, all holding a GPA of at least a 3.50.
Ray made an instant impact as a junior college transfer for the Owls, recording five goals and two assists on the season.
Deslatte earned third team all-conference honors and all-tournament team honors in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) this season, recording two goals and four assists overall.
Moore had two goals and one assist as a defender on the year and Norway had three goals as a forward for MUW.
The Owls were 5-10 in women’s soccer this season, going 4-5 in conference play, and the men’s team finished 3-10-6 overall and 1-5-3 in the SLIAC.
