Mississippi State University announced a decision by the SEC to move up the tipoff time for a Saturday men’s basketball game against No. 15 Vanderbilt.
The game will now tipoff at 11 a.m. CT with gates opening at 10 a.m. The original tipoff time of 5 p.m. was reconsidered in response to weather forecasts for freezing rain and icy conditions. Current projections anticipate that the icy weather will arrive in the early afternoon on Saturday. A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect for Oktibbeha County until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The university also announced that admission to the game will be free. Fans who purchased single-game tickets to the contest will receive refunds. Season ticket holder seating and student section seating will still be observed for the contest.
MSU also announced that standard event operations will be available inside Humphrey Coliseum for the game, and that parking around the arena will be open and available.
Due to the time change, the game will no longer air on SEC Network. The contest will now stream on SEC Network+ through ESPN streaming.
