STARKVILLE — Mississippi State linebacker coach Chris Marve is reportedly set to become the newest member of Mike Norvell’s staff at Florida State according to multiple outlets.
Josh Newberg of Noles247 first reported the news that the first-year linebackers coach was headed to Tallahassee.
The Dispatch reached out to a Mississippi State athletics representative and coach Joe Moorhead but neither party could confirm or deny the rumors at this point.
A former All-SEC standout at Vanderbilt, he spent five seasons at his alma mater as a defensive quality control assistant, defensive graduate assistant and linebackers coach.
“I can see why he was an All-SEC football player because he coaches like he plays,” Moorhead said of Marve during fall camp. “He’s very passionate and knowledgeable and is a great communicator with the kids. He does a good job motivating. I think the guy is a future coordinator and head coach down the line. He is doing a great job with the linebackers so far.”
MSU is set to play Louisville in the Music City Bowl Dec. 30, though it remains unclear whether Marve will be on the Bulldog sidelines.
