STARKVILLE — Mississippi State softball will start charging for home games for the first time in program history, the athletic department announced Monday.
This comes after a recent period of success in which the Bulldogs have reached the NCAA tournament 17 times since 2000, including twice in current head coach Samantha Ricketts’ four-year tenure.
That also includes the first NCAA Super Regional appearance for Mississippi State, hosted at Nusz Park in 2022.
“As softball continues to grow, we are thrilled to offer season tickets at Mississippi State,” Ricketts said in Monday’s press release. “Our dedicated fanbase has helped us build a great atmosphere, giving us a home advantage during SEC weekends and postseason events.”
The 1,100 capacity venue has seen record crowds since Ricketts made her way to Starkville, including several last season when the team hosted No. 1 Oklahoma.
Last season, the program unveiled a new softball field house down the third base line, ushering in a new era of Mississippi State softball.
“The growth of our sport, along with our new fieldhouse, reflects ongoing support for women’s athletics and softball at MSU,” Ricketts said. “We’re eager to keep pushing this program forward and playing our part in its future success.”
Season tickets for the Bulldogs will be $99, with single-game tickets being $8 for adults and $5 for children. Students who have previously purchased the All-Sport Pass will have softball games automatically included, but a softball-only package can be purchased for $30 for the season.
