STARKVILLE – Two Mississippi State men’s track and field athletes were named to the All-Southeastern Conference second team, the league announced Tuesday.

Sophomore jumper Sherman Hawkins and senior runner Tyrese Reid earned postseason conference accolades after strong performances at the SEC Indoor Championships.
Hawkins took home silver in high jump with a best mark of seven feet, one inch, just 0.75 inches below his best, which he achieved at the UAB Vulcan Invite on Jan. 13.
Reid earned his second-team spot after a second-place finish in the 800-meter run at the indoor championships with a time of 1:47.55, a personal best for him.
His mark is the fourth-best time in program history, and his silver medal is a personal-best finish for him as well.
