With just less than three weeks before the season opener, Mississippi State men’s basketball finally has a complete 27-game 2020-2021 schedule.
The Bulldogs will open their season in the Cancun Challenge against Clemson on Nov. 25, then play either Purdue or Liberty the following day.
MSU’s home opener at Humphrey Coliseum is slated against Texas State on Nov. 30, with two more home nonconference contests to follow with North Texas and Jackson State. The Bulldogs will clash with presumptive 2020 NCAA tournament No. 1 seed Dayton on Dec. 12 in Atlanta before closing out its nonconference schedule with a home contest against Central Arkansas on Dec. 16 and a neutral site matchup with Utah State on Dec. 21.
The Bulldogs kick off a 18-game Southeastern Conference slate on the road against Georgia on Dec. 30, then host SEC powerhouse Kentucky on Jan. 2 in MSU’s SEC home opener.
Five of MSU’s first seven conference matchups will be played at Humphrey Coliseum, while seven of the final 11 contests will be road matchups.
Looking at the rest of the SEC schedule, MSU has home-and-home dates with five opponents, which include Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina for the sixth consecutive season, while also facing Texas A&M and Vanderbilt twice. The Ole Miss matchup dates are slated for Jan. 19 at Humphrey Coliseum and Feb. 20 in Oxford.
MSU’s regular season finale will take place at Texas A&M on March 3, then the Bulldogs will compete in the SEC tournament from March 10-14 in Nashville.
