Mississippi State senior forward Tolu Smith announced on Instagram Sunday that he is entering the 2023 NBA Draft process while maintaining his eligibility.
Smith was named an All-SEC first team selection this season for the Bulldogs after averaging 15.7 PPG and 8.5 RPG in 32 games played.
His game-winning putback in the second round of the SEC tournament against Florida secured Mississippi State a spot in the NCAA tournament as he scored a career-high 28 points along with 12 rebounds.
This season, Smith posted 12 double-doubles and was the focal point of MSU’s offense in head coach Chris Jans’ first season in Starkville.
Smith still has one year of eligibility remaining as through declaring while maintaining his eligibility, that offers him the opportunity to come back to Mississippi State.
