STARKVILLE — Mississippi State graduate student Lauren Myrick was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week in the Southeastern Conference on Monday.
It’s the first in-season honor earned by any Mississippi State player so far this season.
The libero was clicking on all cylinders for the Bulldogs (3-0,) averaging just over 5.8 digs per set across three matches this weekend.
She now leads the SEC in digs with 64, recording a career-high 27 digs in a five-set win over Louisiana-Lafayette. Myrick has recorded 37.4 percent of MSU’s digs on the season.
Additionally, Myrick also had 13 assists and four aces from the service line.
Mississippi State travels to Orlando for the UCF Challenge this weekend, taking on UCF and FIU.
