JACKSON — The Mississippi Association of Coaches announced the lineups for the upcoming All-Star games, with both the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game and the Bernard Blackwell North-South All-Star game featuring several talented local players.
Highlighting the selections were Noxubee County quarterback KaMario Taylor and Starkville receiver and defensive back DJ Hairston, who were selected to represent Mississippi against the Alabama All-Stars in December.
“I’m very proud of him,” Tigers head coach Teddy Young said of Taylor. “He’s a great player and an even better young man. I’m excited for him to get the chance to represent this state, our team and his family in this game.”
The Tigers also had a player selected for the South team, receiver Darian “Dede” Wells. He will be facing off against five area rivals representing the North team, Starkville’s Jaylen Ruffin and Towns Fulford, West Point’s Marcus Mukeba and Quanterrius Dawson and Columbus’ Shaun Williams.
The Mississippi-Alabama game will take place at noon on Saturday, Dec. 14 in Mobile, AL. The North-South game will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21 in Gulfport.
