The Mississippi Association of Coaches announced its roster for the 2026 Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Game, and five area athletes, four from Starkville and one from Columbus, have been selected to play in the prestigious game.
On the boys team, the Yellow Jackets’ Jerwan McCarter and Jaden Tate have earned selections to the roster and the Falcons’ Michael Hood will join them. On the girls team, Starkville’s Jada Gay and Jade Brown were also each selected.
Booneville’s Michael Smith will coach the boys team while Brandon head coach Holly Moncrief leads the girls.
The game will be played on March 12 at Mississippi College’s A.E. Wood Coliseum. The girls game begins at noon and the boys play at 2 p.m. The games will be livestreamed through MAC Network, Roku, AppleTV, YouTube & Firestick.
Rosters have also been announced for the North/South All-Star Games, which features top juniors in the state. A total of 20 area players were selected to the North teams, which are divided into four squads: Class 1A/2A/3A/4A boys and girls, and 5A/6A/7A boys and girls.
Starkville’s Kobie Hendrix and Columbus’ Davie Verdell were selected to the North boys team while Starkville’s Zariah Brown and Yasmine Roberts were selected for the North girls team.
The North/South games will be held at Mississippi College on March 21 starting at 2 p.m.
