Fresh off a third-place finish at Athletes Unlimited’s AUX softball league, former Mississippi State softball star Mia Davidson-Smith will don the stars and stripes, beginning this week.
Davidson-Smith was selected to play on the US Women’s national softball team, currently ranked No. 1 in the world, at the World Baseball Softball Confederation Softball World Cup in Fingal-Dublin, Ireland.
This is her second time representing the Bulldogs for Team USA, having done so at the 2022 Pan American Championships, where she and the US won gold.
She is the ninth Mississippi State softball player to represent her country at an international competition, and the sixth to play for Team USA.
So far in her international career, Davidson-Smith has hit .412 with three home runs.
