The post-season awards aren’t done rolling in for MUW’s baseball team as five more Owls landed on the 2026 Academic All-District Baseball Team, which was selected by College Sports Communicators, this week.
Will Carter, Campbell McCluney, Michael O’Neill, Chase Marshall and Matthew Windham all made the team in which a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing and hold a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average. Each player must also appear in at least 90 percent – or start 66 percent – of their team’s games played.
Carter, a senior business major and right-handed pitcher, led the team with a 3.48 earned-run average across 41.1 innings as a reliever. He curated an 8-0 record in his 17 appearances and he hurled 32 strikeouts with only 11 walks issued.
McCluney, a senior kinesiology major, nabbed his second-consecutive Academic All-District recognition this year. As one of The W’s starting pitchers, he compiled a 3-3 record over a team-leading 54.2 innings pitched and also led the team with 43 strikeouts in 14 total appearances.
O’Neill, a junior transfer and elementary education major, played catcher and started 33 of the team’s 40 games behind the plate. He hit .217 with two doubles and four home runs to go along with his 25 RBI. O’Neill also drew a team-high 33 walks and threw out 10 runners on the bases.
Marshall, another junior transfer who played middle infield and was a first-team All-SLIAC selection and an all-region selection in 2026, hit .379 in his 38 games played. O’Neill ended the year with 50 hits, nine doubles, one triple and seven home runs for 38 RBI.
Windham was honored as CSC Academic All-District honoree for the third-straight season in 2026. Windham, a business major who was also an all-SLIAC selection this year, started all 40 games and hit .337 through 178 at-bats. He produced 60 hits, 10 doubles, three triples and six home runs for a total of 38 RBI.
