Mississippi State men’s golf rising senior Pedro Cruz Silva has once again claimed a championship in his home country of Portugal, where he was the lowest-scoring amateur for the second consecutive season at the Portuguese National Amateur Championship.
Cruz Silva, who shot an 8-under par, finished third among all golfers in the event, part of just a handful of golfers to shoot below par for the tournament. He finished 10 strokes clear of the second-best amateur at the event.
In the final round, Cruz Silva matched his career-low round with a 6-under 66, the same score he shot earlier this summer at the European Amateur Championship.
Overall, he birdied or eagled 20 of 72 total holes Quinta do Peru Golf & Country Club, which is located just outside Lisbon.
