The Hill Country Generals, who field 11 local players and compete in the Cotton States Baseball League in New Albany, wrapped up their summer season Sunday at BNA Bank Park.
The Generals reached the CSBL championship game but fell 10-3 to the DeSoto Xplorers in Sunday’s title contest.
They beat the Tupelo Thunder 10-2 in the quarterfinal round Saturday and bested the North Delta Dealers 8-5 in a semifinal earlier Sunday.
The Generals, coached by former Columbus High School baseball coach Jeffrey Cook, finished the summer season with a record of 12-8-1, good for fifth in the 10-team league.
