GREENVILLE, Ill. — Mississippi University for Women basketball standout Conley Langford passed the 1,000-point milestone for the Owls on Thursday, scoring 26 points in a 77-60 loss at St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Greenville University. Langford reached the mark in the first quarter on a layup, finishing the game at 1,019 points in her career, averaging 18.2 points per game as an Owl.
“I am incredibly grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love and achieve this milestone,” Langford said of her achievement. “I also want to thank my family and friends for their support.”
Langford led the team in scoring in the losing effort, which ended the Owls’ three-game winning streak. They fell to 4-12 on the season and 3-6 in SLIAC play. It was her fourth 20+ point performance of the 2024-25 campaign.
Langford joined the Owls as a sophomore in 2022 after spending one season at Northwest Mississippi Community College. She chose MUW because of its academic reputation, as she pursues a biology degree. She averaged 17.9 points and 10.4 rebounds in her first season and was named USCAA Student-Athlete of the Year and Second-Team All-American.
In her second season with the Owls, Langford averaged 19.3 points per game and finished 32nd in Division II in scoring average.
Langford and the Owls have another road test on Saturday at Spalding University before returning home for SLIAC contests with Westminster College and Webster University next week.
