CLINTON—The Mississippi Association of Coaches and Mississippi Sports Medicine will host their annual All-Star Basketball game on Saturday at the A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton. The game will feature some of the best talent from across the state in all classifications. It is the 65th annual game for the girls and the 75th annual game for the boys.
The game will feature North and South teams composed of players from Mississippi High School Activities’ Association members. There will be combined teams for Classes 1A-4A and 5A-7A.
Area schools represented in the All-Star teams include Caledonia, Columbus and Starkville
In the girls’ games, Caledonia forward Shia Williams is the lone 1A-4A representative, joining a North All-Star team coached by Kosciusko girls basketball coach Cory Guyton. Starkville guard Jada Gay will also make the trip to Clinton for the 5A-7A North All-Star team, joining her head coach Matt Wilbanks and assistant coaches Kelcia Bufkin and Devonte Stallings.
Columbus forward Michael Hood will join Starkville guards Jaden Tate and T.J. Warren on the 5A-7A North All-Star team coached by Olive Branch head coach Eric Rombaugh.
The showcase begins with the 1A-4A North-South girls’ game at noon, followed by the boys at 1:30 p.m., the 5A-7A girls at 3 p.m. and the boys at 4:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased online via GoFan. The games will be available to watch via stream at Friday Night Under The Lights, fnutl.com, or the MAC Network on the organization website: mscoaches.com/mac-network/livestream.
