PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Mississippi State women’s golf competed in its first event of the 2023-24 season, the Carmel Cup in Pebble Beach over the weekend.
The Bulldogs finished fifth overall, shooting 9-over as a team, with just one golfer finishing in the top-10 individually.
Junior Julia Lopez Ramirez paced Mississippi State in the tournament, finishing third overall with a 7-under score over three rounds. It’s her sixth top-five finish individually over the past two seasons.
Mississippi State travels to Minnesota this weekend for the Annika Intercollegiate, where they are one of 12 teams competing, only two of whom are from the Southeastern Conference.
