STARKVILLE — Mississippi State women’s tennis is bringing back a former Bulldog to the program as Noah Tippen was announced as a new assistant coach on Tuesday afternoon.
“I am really excited for Noah to join the staff,” head coach Chris Hooshyar said in Tuesday’s press release. “He has a remarkable work ethic, and his reputation supports that. It is a huge bonus to have someone who is thoroughly rooted in Mississippi State. When it comes to working with our players and getting recruits, it is such an advantage for them to see.”
Tippen was most recently an assistant coach at James Madison, helping the Dukes reach the Sun Belt Championship team title match in a season that saw them go 15-8 overall and 9-1 in conference play.
He graduated from MSU and played collegiately at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, winning junior college singles and doubles titles in the Magnolia State.
“The fact that he is familiar with the program and loves Mississippi State will come across and be contagious,” Hooshyar said. “It is a huge bonus for the program and myself to have someone like that on staff. Noah has lived it and he is a perfect example of how great this place is. He is going to show that to everybody.”
Tippen began his coaching career at Mississippi State in 2020 as a volunteer assistant for men’s tennis, He previously worked as a team manager and assisted the equipment staff in 2018-19, seasons in which the Bulldogs won SEC Championships and earned top-10 national rankings.
“I’m honored to be able to come home to Mississippi State,” Tippen said in Tuesday’s press release. “It’s literally a dream come true to be able to come back to a place that means so much to me and that has given me so much already. I can’t wait to get the message out to recruits about how special MSU and the Starkville community is.”
