AUSTIN, Tx. — Mississippi State track and field finished up its second day of competition at the NCAA Division I track and field championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin on Thursday.
Bulldogs men’s decathlete Peyton Bair, who was in sixth place after the first five events of the decathlon on Wednesday, ended up 11th overall following Thursday’s five events.
He earned Second Team All-American honors in his first NCAA outdoor track and field championships appearance.
His best finish amongst Thursday’s events was a sixth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles.
Additionally, the Bulldogs had two other athletes compete Thursday, with Asia Poe scoring a personal best 5.88 meter long jump. She finished 21st overall, earning Honorable Mention All-American honors.
Kamaya Debose-Epps competed in both the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints for the Bulldogs, failing to make the finals in either. She finished 22nd overall in the 100-meter and 21st in the 200-meter, earning Honorable Mention All-American honors in both.
