As expected, Mississippi State’s Dudy Noble Field was named one of the 16 NCAA Baseball Regional host sites Sunday night for the NCAA tournament from a pool of 20 previously named possible sites.
The bigger question will be if Mississippi State’s resume is strong enough to land a top eight national seed so it will be in line to host a Super Regional. A full bracket and seed reveal will be released by the NCAA at 11 a.m. Monday.
The Bulldogs didn’t do themselves any favors in the Southeastern Conference tournament last week, getting outscored 25-3 in two games and being run-ruled twice by Florida and Tennessee. But, MSU is hopeful its body of work throughout the season and its RPI will speak for itself and land it a national seed. As of Sunday, both Baseball America and D1 Baseball.com’s projected bracket has MSU as the No. 8 seed and a national host.
Regional play begins Friday at Dudy Noble Field.
