Offended by upside-down flag
I feel like I need to write this for our local veterans.
Tuesday, Jan. 19 my son, an Iraq, veteran called the mayor’s office to inform them that someone had raised the flag at city hall upside down. He called the mayor’s office from the front sidewalk. He remained there until someone came out and lowered the flag and raised it back as it should have been. This is a signal of distress. Does Columbus city hall need that much help?
I feel like this was a slap in the face and an insult to all veterans.
I know the mayor will never do this but I feel like that he owes our veterans a written apology.
He should also reprimand the employee that raised the flag upside down. This was a disgrace to our veterans and our community.
