A rose to the Illinois-based search and rescue team known as Chaos Divers, who has helped search for Ryan Taylor multiple times. Taylor disappeared in 2020 and while four people have been charged with his murder, neither his vehicle nor his remains have been uncovered. Over the past two years, the team has visited Lowndes County four times and has searched Lake Lowndes, Officers Lake, the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway and the Luxapalila Creek. In those efforts, they have recovered two vehicles, but neither were related to Taylor or his disappearance. The dive team has a popular YouTube channel with more than 213,000 subscribers.
A rose to Mississippi State University’s School of Business and its first-year dean, Scott Grawe for plans to introduce experiential learning opportunities for students beginning in the spring. These opportunities will take the form of courses across the school’s nine majors. The courses will allow students to gain job experience and learn how to apply the knowledge they learn to real situations companies deal with regularly, such as in finance, supply chain management and sales. The courses stand to benefit those students who may not be able to take on summer internships. “… Not everybody is going to do a summer internship. A lot of our students need to go back home to help the family with a family business or farming operation, or whatever that happens to be. So if we can give them that experiential learning opportunity while they’re in the classroom during the fall or spring semester, we give them those tools that they may otherwise be missing out on,” Grawe said.
A rose to Mississippi State women’s soccer, currently on a five-match unbeaten streak in Southeastern Conference play, its longest in program history, following a draw against Vanderbilt on Thursday night. The Bulldogs also set a new full-season attendance record of 9,034 at MSU Soccer Field in 2023. Two matches remain, both on the road, before the SEC Tournament begins, but Mississippi State has a great chance of returning home to host an NCAA Tournament match next month.
