US Open
It is interesting to note that when we say “US open,” it always means tennis and not golf or other sports, and it is single player tournament.
Though there are a number of people behind that single person, the actual winning depends on the performance of the single player. Obviously, there are a number of games depending on a single person.
This is the game I know and played by myself long ago in Bangladesh, and I have sometimes done it on the hard courts at Mississippi University for Women.
I subscribed to ESPN just to watch this tennis tournament. How graceful the women’s players are and how powerful the men’s players are!
Interesting facts: The first Wimbledon was played in 1877; the US Open was founded in 1881; the French Open was founded in 1891; and the Australian Open in 1905. These four major tournaments have been designated as the “Grand Slam.”
I suggest Dispatch readers watch this US open tournament and enjoy the game as a group.
